Are you experiencing a lot of sensitivity when eating or drinking? Do you find yourself favoring one side of your mouth over the other? Often times these are bad signs and could indicate issues with your teeth. One of the more well-known reasons for tooth sensitivity can be from a cavity that has extended past the enamel of the tooth and into the roots.
Believe it or not, all of our teeth are living bone inside of the mouth that are connected to our central nervous system through the root’s which have blood vessels and nerves running through each root. This is why we feel the pain once the decay has gotten past the enamel as now it is directly affecting the nerve’s and can cause extreme discomfort, sensitivity or even a lot of pain.
If a filling is no longer possible due to the severity of the tooth decay another potential option would be to perform a root canal and then crown the tooth. This involves removing all the nerve endings from the root of the tooth and then capping that tooth with a ceramic mold of the tooth made to match, otherwise known as a “crown”.
Nob Hill Dental Center, with our state of the art lab and our in-house CEREC machine is capable of doing “crown in a day”. Same day root canal and crown are performed at our Broward general dentist offices to assure top quality service and lowest duration of pain required before the problem is fixed.
The excruciating pain and unbearable tooth sensitivity that go hand in hand with a root canal make waiting for such procedures near impossible for most. Having the ability to perform both the root canal and the crown in the same day ensure to all Nob Hill Dental Center patients that we will do everything in our power to get you out of pain as quickly as possible.
